6.1 Text Block In Word, a “block” refers to a selection of text. This may be a word, a sentence, a paragraph or multiple paragraphs. To select text using the mouse, position the cursor anywhere in the document, hold down the left-hand mouse button and drag to select the text. Select a single word by double-clicking on it.
