51.1 Hide / Display Ribbon The ribbon is the panel of options and icons visible near the top of the Word screen. Hiding the ribbon can increase the proportion of the document that is visible as you work on it. There are 3 options for hiding/displaying the ribbon. Click on the Ribbon Display Options at the top right of the screen to choose Auto-hide ribbon, Show Tabs or Show Tabs and Commands. You can also press CTRL plus F1 to hide the ribbon. To reinstate it, press CTRL plus F1 again...
